Student opportunities and activities
At Mowbray Public School, we offer a variety of programs in the classroom and across the school to help students build new skills, make friends and explore new interests.
Our programs include:
- school sport, athletics and inter-school competitions, including PSSA gala days
- school band and strings programs
- Stage 1, 2 and 3 performance dance groups
- junior and senior choir groups
- excursions and incursions, including Stage 3 Canberra and Great Aussie Bush camps
- public speaking competitions and the Premier's debating group
- other interest-based clubs, including the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) club and art club
- student leadership opportunities, including the Student Representative Council (SRC), Year 6 SRC executive and House Captains
- activities that support high potential and gifted learners.

Our extra-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
Students can develop their thinking, communication and teamwork skills through debating and public speaking. They also have the chance to compete in local and state events.
Creative and performing arts
Our drama, music and art programs help students be creative and express themselves. They can join in concerts, art shows and drama activities.
Trips and excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.
